Ignite presentations: Learner response

Your learner response is as follows and will take some time to do properly:

Create a new blogpost called 'Ignite presentation learner response'

1) Type up your feedback in full including the ratings out of five for each category.

  • Good, solid opening clearly setting out text and topic
  • sound structure-clear opening and genre
  • release+points on Valentine’s day very good
  • strong research-budget, box office
  • More on to topic-violence. BBFC mentioned but much more could be said here
  • Excellent design to presentation- good use of images and not much text
  • Rehearsal not quite there, get a bit lost around institution. A couple of long pauses waiting for the slide
  • returns to violence and copycat case-structure could be better here
  • jump from narrative back to violence-essay will need to be much clearer structure and organisation
  • Illegal streaming point is interesting but again could discuss more: it was highly successful so surely they didn't lose money? Did it create word of mouth?

Scoring
significance -4
structure     -2
simplicity    -4
rehearsal    -3
Q&A
  • respond solidly to Q&A-clearly good knowledge, confidence responses on marketing and sequel questions
  • response show good research has taken place
  • good discussion on copycat violence and media effect

2) Use this feedback and your own feelings regarding your presentation toself-assess and write a detailed WWW and EBI for your own research and presentation as a whole.
WWW:

Lack of text on screen
Use if images and gifs (animated short clips)
Good points on illegal downloads, copycat crime and release strategy

EBI:
One main thing that would have made my presentation better is the structure of the presentation. When looking back, I talk about the basics of movie and talk about the violence in the film then talking about institution but go back to violence. I jumped around a lot which could of made it difficult for the audience to follow the presentation. The case studies about copycat crime should have been more detail and how it was influence by the movie or media. I should of talked about to what extent it was the medias fault and if it was the only one to blame. I also mention BBFC but could of talked about why it was rated 15 and if it was suitable or not for the audience.

3) Write a paragraph discussing how your presentation will lead into your critical investigation. Some of this may refer to your feedback (a greater focus on media debates, for example) or in rare cases you may want to change the focus of your investigation entirely.

Presentation to Essay

The essay will focus mostly on violence and copycat crime. I will be discussion if the movies we watch such as Deadpool could affect us in society and if it makes us more aggressive. I will talk about if it is the media or our environment that cause us to act in certain way and to what extent. Are males more likely to be more violent as they watch more violent films?
First I will focus on if violent films actually the ones to blames as millions of people watch these films and only a very small percentage actual recreate that crime. People going to watch a movies that has violent scene doesn't necessarily mean that they will go kill someone and commit a violent crime.
Then I would talk about if it is the medias fault or something else. Is society to blame or is it the media for not censoring violent crimes. I would also talk about if the family is a factor to this.
In addition, is it only violent films or would violent video games be a tribute.
